Mobile money: Airtel, MTN and Zamtel
Mobile money is the default at every Zambian bookmaker. You enter an amount, a prompt pops up on your phone, and you approve it with your PIN. Deposits usually land in seconds, and withdrawals go back to the same wallet.

All three wallets from K1, up to K20,000, approved through a USSD prompt that works on any phone.

All three wallets from K1, plus Airtel USSD deposits on *115#, and bets from K0.01.
Each wallet has its own guide with every bookmaker that accepts it, limits and step-by-step instructions:
Visa and Mastercard
Seven bookmakers in our Log take bank cards, mostly the international ones: PariPesa, BetWinner, 1xBet, 22Bet, Melbet, BetAndYou and Linebet. Card deposits are instant, but withdrawals take longer than mobile money, usually one to four working days.
- PariPesa takes Visa and Mastercard from K20 with no fee of its own.
- Melbet takes cards from K20 up to K50,000, with payouts in one to three business days.
- 22Bet card withdrawals take about four days.
- Your bank may charge a fee for international card transactions, on top of the 5% levy.
E-wallets and cryptocurrency
International bookmakers also offer e-wallets and crypto. Melbet takes Skrill and Neteller from K50 and crypto from K100, with e-wallet payouts within 24 hours. BetWinner lists 45 cryptocurrencies and two e-wallets on its payments page. PariPesa, 1xBet, 22Bet, BetAndYou and Linebet also accept crypto.
Cash at betting shops and prepaid vouchers
If you’d rather use cash, several local bookmakers let you deposit or collect winnings in person:
| Bookmaker | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Gal Sport Betting | Withdraw your online balance as cash at a GSB shop with an SMS code |
| MWOS | Deposit and withdraw at MWOS shops, K5 to K20,000, or buy prepaid vouchers |
| Bolabet | 21 shops in Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Chingola, Kasumbalesa and Solwezi; an extra 5% on shop and BolaXpress deposits |
| eBet | Shops in Chipata, Livingstone and Chirundu |
| 1xBet | Deposits and payouts at 1xBet shops |
The 5% betting levy, whatever you use
Since 1 January 2026 the Betting Levy Act takes 5% of every deposit into and every withdrawal from an online betting account in Zambia. It applies at every bookmaker, on every wallet, and comes off before the money lands. Your network may charge its own transfer fee on top.
The levy is collected by the bookmaker for the government. It applies to online deposits and withdrawals on every method: mobile money, cards, e-wallets and crypto.
Fixing mobile money deposit and withdrawal problems
Most mobile money problems at betting sites come down to a handful of causes. Work through these before you contact support:
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The PIN prompt never arrived | Turn off pop-up blocking, check the number on your betting account matches your wallet, and try again once. |
| Money left my wallet but isn’t in my account | Find the mobile money transaction ID in your SMS and send it to the bookmaker’s support. Don’t deposit again until it’s traced. |
| Withdrawal is “pending” | Check whether the bookmaker wants ID documents. First withdrawals are often held for verification. |
| Withdrawal rejected | The name on your betting account must match the name on your mobile money wallet. Bonus wagering must also be complete. |
| Deposit smaller than expected | That’s the 5% betting levy, plus any network fee. K100 becomes K95 in your account. |
Betting safely with mobile money
- Never share your mobile money PIN with anyone, including people who say they work for a bookmaker or network.
- Only deposit after checking you’re on the bookmaker’s real site. Fake “agents” on social media asking you to send mobile money money directly are scams.
- Register with the number on your own wallet. Most bookmakers only pay out to the account holder.
- Set a deposit limit in your betting account. Fast mobile money deposits make it easy to spend more than you planned.
- Keep your transaction SMS messages until each deposit or withdrawal has cleared.
Which payment method should you use?
- For most people: mobile money. It’s instant, works on any phone, and every bookmaker in the top five takes all three wallets.
- For small amounts: Airtel, MTN or Zamtel at GSB, betPawa or MWOS, which accept deposits from K1.
- For quick cash-outs: PariPesa or Melbet, which say mobile money payouts take about 15 minutes.
- For cash: GSB, MWOS or Bolabet shops.
- For large deposits: cards or e-wallets at Melbet, which take up to K50,000 by card and K100,000 by Skrill or Neteller.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most popular way to pay at Zambian betting sites?
Mobile money, by a long way. Airtel Money and MTN MoMo are accepted by 5 of the 5 bookmakers in our Log, and Zamtel Money by 5. Deposits are approved with your PIN through a prompt on your phone and usually land within seconds. Withdrawals go back to the same wallet, which keeps things simple.
Which betting sites accept Visa or Mastercard in Zambia?
PariPesa, BetWinner, 1xBet, 22Bet, Melbet, BetAndYou and Linebet all take bank cards. PariPesa is the highest-ranked of them in our Log and accepts Visa and Mastercard from K20 with no fee of its own. Card withdrawals usually take one to four working days, longer than mobile money, and your bank may charge a fee.
Can I deposit cash at a betting shop?
Yes, at some bookmakers. MWOS lets you deposit and withdraw at its shops from K5 to K20,000 and sells prepaid vouchers. Bolabet has 21 shops and adds an extra 5% to shop deposits, eBet has shops in Chipata, Livingstone and Chirundu, and GSB lets you collect online winnings as cash at its shops with an SMS code.
Do I pay the 5% levy on every payment method?
Yes. The Betting Levy Act takes 5% of every deposit into, and every withdrawal from, an online betting account in Zambia, whatever method you use: mobile money, card, e-wallet or crypto. A K100 deposit becomes K95 in your account, and a K500 withdrawal becomes K475. Your bank or network may also charge its own fee.
Which payment method is fastest for withdrawals?
Mobile money is usually the fastest. PariPesa and Melbet both say mobile money withdrawals take about 15 minutes once your account is verified, while Melbet’s Skrill and Neteller payouts take up to 24 hours and card payouts one to three business days. Your first withdrawal at any bookmaker can take longer because of ID checks.
Can I bet with cryptocurrency in Zambia?
Some international bookmakers accept crypto, including BetWinner, which lists 45 coins, plus PariPesa, Melbet, 1xBet, 22Bet, BetAndYou and Linebet. Melbet’s crypto deposits start at K100. None of the top three local bookmakers in our Log take crypto. Check network fees before sending, and keep the transaction hash until the deposit appears.
